Edited by Dr N Bhaskara Rao, the book in 1985 was the first to project India in critical areas of change and growth next 30 years. It was based on research by India’s first and pioneer research outfit, Operations Research Group (well esteemed as ORG). Based on population projection scenario for the next few decades, the book looks into urbanisation, migration flows, education, development schemes, employment, trends and opportunities, natural resources and their utilisation and emerging growth pattern of India. Founder of Delhi School of Economics, Dr VKRV Rao, who held several portfolios as Union Minister, wrote the Foreword for this book (which was his last penned).
